  Pepito : What's the matter? Scared?

  Madeline : I wasn't scared of you, Pepito.

  Pepito : [bringing out Madeline's drawing pad]  Were you looking for this?

  Madeline : That's mine!

  Pepito : Hey, I know it's yours!

  Madeline : You stole it.

  Pepito : I was gonna give it back. You should say thank you, don't you think?

  Madeline : Give it to me!

  [snatches her pad away] 

• Pepito : Senoritas, you honor me with your presence.

• Pepito : [to his father, while watching a carnival show "Los Idiots"]  They're so stupid. That's why they're idiots.

• Pepito : [he and Madeline are being held hostage by Leopold and his henchmen, a trio of clowns known as The Idiots]  What if we never get out of here, never go home?

  Madeline : Your family will pay the ransom.

  Pepito : So will yours.

  Madeline : They can't. I don't have a family.

  Madeline : They're gone. They're in heaven.

  Pepito : I'm sorry.

  Madeline : It's all right. It happened a long time ago.

  Pepito : My parents probably don't even want me back. I'm a lot of trouble, you know?

  Madeline : You are a lot of trouble. But, you know, you have got charisma.

  Pepito : You think so?

  Madeline : I miss the girls and Miss Clavel.

  Pepito : Don't worry, Madeline. I won't leave without you. I promise.
