- TriviaMost of the scenes with Batgirl were cut, because Alicia Silverstone had gained a few pounds during production and the wardrobe team had to refit her costume. When the press discovered the news, they slammed Silverstone's weight gain and mocked the actress for being "too fat" to fit into her costume. Director Joel Schumacher publicly defended Silverstone during interviews and press meetings, joking "What is this girl's big sin - that she ate some pizza?" When the taunting continued, Schumacher lashed out at the reporters that taunted her. He said in a magazine interview, "It was horrible. I thought it was very cruel. She was a teenager who gained a few pounds - like all of us do at certain times. I would confront female journalists and I'd say, 'With so many young people suffering from anorexia and bulimia, why are you crucifying this girl?'"
- GoofsWhen Poison Ivy and Bane come to steal the Bat Signal it is already activated - why? There's no emergency and if there was, there would be at least one officer operating or guarding it.
- Crazy creditsThe opening Warner Bros. logo re-shapes itself to form an ice-covered Batman logo.

It's a frozen Turkey.
Batman and Robin take on Mr Freeze...
Joel Schumacher, what on Earth was he thinking with this one?
Compare this with the earlier Batman films, and you'll see its multiple failings, it lacks any of the darker atmosphere, opting instead for a note garish tone, it tries to be funny, it really isn't.
The one decent scene, Poison Ivy's big reveal, outrageously camp, but fun. The rest of the film is overdone in every aspect, over produced, over acted, it's all just too much. Too many heroes and villains.
As for the casting, all I can think of here, was that they packed it out with names, simply to smash The Box Office, whether they were right for the part of not, in this case, most of them were miscast.
There is no denying the brilliance of George Clooney, but in this instance, he was just totally miscast as Batman, I'm not sure his agent had his career in mind with this one. As for Arnie.... I'd rather think of him in Terminator and T2, this performance, is better forgotten.
The special effects look so cheap and tacky, this thing really hasn't aged at all well.
I think I deserve a Starbucks after sitting through it again, 2/10.
