Tlv Prasad-Mithun disaster streak continues
superindrajit1 April 2013
Warning: Spoilers
There was a time when Mithun films were considered good but soon, he became the B Grade King. All his Hindi films were low budget films with lots of violence and brief nudity. Mithun's last decent film had to be The Don(1993) which too was a flop. When Mithun couldn't revive himself with mainstream Bollywood films, he turned to B Grade or low budget films that were only liked by the Masses, they never made it to multiplexes.

Muqquadar was another of those Mithun films that released after he shifted to Ooty and created his own dream factory. He acted in around 180 films and created the record of acting in the most films of all time in the late 90s and early 20s period. Out of these 180 films, only a few like Shapath, Jallad, and Gunda were hits. Anyways, this film isn't anything different. It's the same botched up technique of low budget revenge films. There is injustice done to the hero and he takes revenge, that is the basic plot of the film. At least Shapath had good handling and decent music for being a low budget typical action film like this. Muqquadar doesn't offer anything new, it is terribly handled as well. The worst part is the action, it is South Style Action which is the action we watch in mainstream movies nowadays. However, this is extremely clichéd. People flying around and shouting, the action scenes are so absurd you would get a big headache. Plus, the ending is really messed up. Mithun is hanging with Puneet Issar(the villain) and to murder him, he cuts his own hand off. He was cuffed to him which is why he had to cut his hand off as he couldn't cut the cuff with the sword he had. Realism is also declined here, if you cut body parts out, unless you are asleep in an operation theater you will feel lots of pain. Mithun(after cutting his hand off) walks holding the disabled hand without much pain.

Direction by Tlv Prasad is cringe worthy and garbage as usual, Rajiv Babbar at least gave Mithun hits like Shapath during this period of Mithun's film career, Prasad just brought him down. This film was only liked in some of those low class cinema theaters where Mithun films are classics.

Mithun Chakraborty speaks Hindi in his usual Bengali accent and his expressions are funny. However, his acting is not as good as his acting in the 70s and 80s when he ruled. Puneet Issar is horrible as the villain, he shouts like a C Grade villain. Ayesha Jhulka signed this film because she desperately needed a hit film, she does what is required. Moushumi Chatterjee is such a brilliant actress and I fail to understand why she signed one of Mithun's B Grade craps like this film, what is wrong with her, she does alright. The rest provide average support.

On the whole, Muqqadar is one of those flops that were known as B Grade craps of Mithun in the 90s period. Mithun sure created a record of 180 films, but having a lot of films doesn't show a brilliant actor, if even 60% of those 180 films were good films, I would've understood. Here not even 6% of those films are worth watching.

ohhh. here is the great discodancer {mithun} showing us one of his good films that i really liked. his performance is great and says that his age doen't make diffrence to him. the songs are great and the actress did well too. the director t.l.vprasad doesn't deserve mithun in his films cause mithun wants more brilliant director to deal with.
