ABC‘s Will Trent isn’t afraid to shy away from tough subjects. And the latest challenging storyline revolves around Angie Polaski coming face-to-face with her past demons. French Stewart first appeared as Lenny Broussard, Angie’s former foster parent, in Will Trent Season 1 Episode 9. And it looks like he’s here to stay for a while.
French Stewart as Lenny Broussard | ABC/Wilford Harewood French Stewart plays Lenny Broussard in ‘Will Trent’
As Will Trent fans have discovered throughout season 1, Angie had a rough (which is putting it mildly) childhood. Her mother was addicted to drugs and would sell Angie to men in exchange for money that she would use to buy more drugs. And when Angie was seven, her mother overdosed and died. So the state put Angie into foster care, where the horrors only continued.

Who would think that Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence is a huge fan of Bravo? She certainly is, and while she watches many of the Housewives shows, she also loves Vanderpump Rules.
Vanderpump Rules is a spinoff series about Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Lisa Vanderpump’s restaurant Sur. The show centers around the young staff working at the restaurant and their personal lives. It quickly became a huge hit for Bravo.
Bartender Jax Taylor was one of the biggest stars in the series. He may also have been the worst villain.
‘Vanderpump Rules’: Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright’s story
Taylor was an original cast member of Vanderpump Rules along with Stassi Schroeder, Scheana Shay, Katie Maloney, Tom Sandoval, and Kristen Doute.
Taylor and Schroeder started off in a committed relationship, at least as far as she knew. The bad boy cheated on her multiple times, including once with her Bff Doute.

Alfred Sole, the prolific television production designer of Veronica Mars, Castle and MacGyver who had achieved cult-horror status with his 1976 film Alice, Sweet Alice featuring a 10-year-old Brooke Shields in a supporting role, died Feb. 14 at his home in Salt Lake City. He was 78.
His death was announced in a Facebook post by his cousin, filmmaker Dante Tomaselli. A cause of death was not specified.
Sole had already written and directed the 1972 sexually explicit, low-budget film Deep Sleep when several years later – and after the first film had been pulled from theaters on charges of obscenity – he turned to the horror genre. Originally titled Communion, Sole’s second movie premiered at the Chicago Film Festival in 1976 and was released by Allied Artists the following year as Alice, Sweet Alice, a name change disliked by Sole.

The Flash may not be back for a long time, due to its pandemic-pushed production schedule, but it now appears that it will do so without a fan-favorite character, Ralph Dibny, a.k.a. Elongated Man, after some recently-unearthed tweets by the actor who portrays him, Hartley Sawyer, retroactively stretched his foot into his mouth.
The CW has officially fired Sawyer from his series regular role on The Flash, reports THR. The move occurs after attention was recently called to the tweets in question, made from 2012 to 2014, which—due to their sheer volume—tick quite the array of offensive boxes, with some racist, misogynistic and all-around sexually-crude attempts at humor. After the tweets resurfaced, Sawyer issued an apology, which he posted on his Instagram, seeing as his Twitter appears to have been—quite understandably—deleted. However, it was apparently not enough for the network.

James Cameron’s record-breaking blockbuster “Titanic” is currently back on the big screen to celebrate its 20th anniversary, and the movie’s return has inspired at least one shocking revelation about its production: Matthew McConaughey was originally the top pick to play Jack Dawson. According to Kate Winslet, the studio was so intent on having McConaughey involved that she originally auditioned with him.

“I auditioned with Matthew, isn’t that weird?” Winslet told Stephen Colbert during a recent interview. “Never said that in public before. I auditioned with Matthew, which was completely fantastic. It just wouldn’t have been the whole, Jack and Rose, Kate and Leo thing.”
McConaughey was still relatively unknown during “Titanic’s” early days of development, having starred in Richard Linklater’s “Dazed and Confused” and movies like “Boys on the Side” and “Glory Daze.

Movie-going audiences got to know Ben Affleck primarily as an actor first, having starred in early 1990s movies like School Ties, Dazed and Confused, and Glory Daze, but a successful reinvention within the last decade has turned him into one of the most respected directors in the industry. As a result of this, in combination with his signing on to play Bruce Wayne/Batman in the growing DC Cinematic Universe, many have wondered if we may eventually see the performer/filmmaker helm a comic book film of his very own. Right now, nothing is on the books, but Affleck has revealed that he could certainly be motivated to take on a superhero blockbuster in the near future. Along with many of his Dccu cohorts, Ben Affleck took part in a Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice press conference last week in Los Angeles, and it was during the proceedings that...

NBC's forthcoming series "Dracula" is setting up something of a love triangle, and it's just cast the third side.
Irish actress Victoria Smurfit ("About a Boy," "The Beach") will play Lady Jayne in the drama. Jonathan Rhys Meyers plays the title character, who's posing as a doctor in 1890s London.
Jayne will feel an instant attraction to Dracula (who's going by the name Alan Grayson), but he's hung up on Mina (Jessica DeGouw), whom he believes is the reincarnation of his late wife.
Other pilot-season news:
- CBS has cast Blake Garrett Rosenthal ("New Girl") as Anna Faris' 8-year-old son in its comedy pilot "Mom," from Chuck Lorre.
- Patty Jenkins ("Monster," "The Killing") has been tapped to direct ABC's drama pilot "Betrayal." It's about a woman who's having an affair with a defense lawyer -- who happens to be trying a case against her husband, who's a prosecutor.

Joel Silver hasn’t wasted any time since his divorce from Warner Brothers. His production company Silver Pictures has acquired a number of scripts since the split, including The Outsider and Sanctuary, Gunman and Outsider. Now Silver has picked up the spec script Straight Edge by Rich Wilkes.
Wilkes is best known for writing XXX, which starred Vin Diesel as an extreme athlete recruited by the government on a special mission. He also wrote and directed Glory Daze.
Straight Edge tells the story of a heist gone wrong. The film is set in Los Angeles and follows a “slew of colorful characters, ranging from corrupt cops to Southland gang members.”
THR writes that some people who’ve read the script describe it as a throwback to 1980′s movies like 48 Hrs and Lethal Weapon, both of which were produced by Silver.

ABC‘s slate of new shows for fall has a strange flavor to it, and it’s going to be a bumpy ride. The network has about as many new shows as returning ones (if you count all the midseasons), and a good percentage of the returning offerings are a year old or less, making this look a bit like a rebuilding year.
Not only is it a rebuilding year, but it’s the year of bringing back every actor and actress who ever had a decent run on a show before. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a network’s new season slate that was so crammed with people returning from something else. If you can’t make it good, I suppose, make sure viewers recognize the faces.

Before we dive into the first installment of “Now & Then”, I want to just take a few moments to explain exactly what it is. In “Now & Then” movies, both horror and non-horror will be analyzed from the point of view of seeing the film at a younger age and then the point of view of watching it in the present. The movie I have chosen for the first installment is a movie that is very important to me and influenced me immensely growing up the 1996 independent classic Glory Daze from writer/director Rich Wilkes.
Glory Daze is the story of a group of tight knit friends in college who find themselves two days away from graduation. Jack (Ben Affleck) is starting to panic as he starts to contemplate what the future holds for him and begins to worry that the last few years were the high point and everything else...

A few weeks ago, Hollywood Reporter TV critic Tim Goodman wrote an article about how it seems like a lot of the recent Emmy nominees for outstanding comedy series aren't all that funny. He wasn't harumphing about the quality of comedy on TV; in fact, he's already said in the past that the sitcom is alive and well.
No, what he was complaining about was that the shows that have been nominated recently and are in contention this year are shows that have more dramatic elements than funny ones, but either because of their format or because of the competition in the drama categories, they have to go up against shows that are much more traditional comedies. And, because shows like "The Big C" or "Glee" are dramatic in nature, the goofier comedies on the ballot don't ever stand a chance.

Smash
According to the Official NBC Description: Smash is a musical drama that celebrates the beauty and heartbreak of the Broadway theater as it follows a cross-section of dreamers and schemers who all have one common desire — to be a “Smash.” The series centers on a desire to create a Broadway musical based on the life of Marilyn Monroe — written by the successful songwriting duo of Tom (Christian Borle, Legally Blonde: The Musical) and Julia (Debra Messing, Will & Grace). Julia recently began the process of adopting a child with her husband of many years, but her focus is torn when she has the opportunity to write another Broadway hit. A rivalry soon forms for the lead role between a youthful, inexperienced Midwestern beauty (Katharine McPhee, American Idol) — who is trying to find fame in the big city against all odds — and stage veteran (Megan Hilty, 9 to 5: The Musical), who...

The American university tradition of frat houses and sororities is not one that translates very well to the UK. We.ve seen them on Buffy and a few teen movies, but we don.t really get their traditions or their relevance. On the evidence of E4.s new import Glory Daze, none of that is about to change. This is one show that does the whole notion of Alpha Kappa Zeta a huge disservice.

Indulge in few small plates of TV news this evening:
Own has ordered a second season of the docu-series "Our America with Lisa Ling" on the heels of its second episode taking a big ratings jump (it was up about 24 percent from its premiere). Season 2 will have six episodes. [Own]
The Emmys are combining the miniseries and TV movie categories for this year's ceremony. The move is a result of an Emmy rule that allows the awards to review categories when fewer than five nominees qualify in two successive years; in the past two years only two miniseries have been eligible for nomination. [Emmys]
TBS has canceled its college comedy "Glory Daze" after one season. The show never really caught fire in the ratings, premiering to 1.8 million viewers and later dipping to 1.1 million. [Deadline]

The first 20 seconds of the new Brotherhood trailer makes it seem like some something of the Glory Daze ilk — but it turns out, these guys have more on their minds than blondes and beer. Like, we’re talking life and death. A frat brother (Jon Foster, CBS’s Accidentally on Purpose) tells his pledges to hold up a convenience store (all part of the initiation, naturally), and a fellow pledge accidentally gets shot. Things escalate, and pledge Adam (Trevor Morgan, Jurassic Park III, The Sixth Sense) struggles between going to the authorities to save his friend’s life and acquiescing...

I was going to write a longer introduction but my hand hurts so I'm going to go hunt down my nearly empty Advil bottle instead. Sorry. Here's your Tuesday night TV:
8:00pm: "The Biggest Loser" on NBC
"I, Predator" on Animal Planet. Series premiere.
"Mysteries at the Museum" on Travel. The commercials make this look interesting, but I remain skeptical. Anyone seen it and have an evaluation? And I am the kind of person who likes museums but hates "The DaVinci Code".
"NCIS" on CBS
"No Ordinary Family" on ABC
"Nova: Deadliest Earthquakes" on PBS
9:00pm: "Cupcake Wars" on Food Network
"Dirty Jobs" on Discovery
"Frontline: Battle for Haiti" on PBS
"Millionaire Matchmaker" on Bravo. Fourth season finale.
"Mysteries at the Museum" on Travel. First season finale.
"NCIS: Los Angeles" on CBS
"Ramsay's Best Restaurant" on Bbca
"V" on ABC. Really? This survived? Huh, well I guess that's good news for Morena Baccarin.

Fascinated as I am with much of 1980s popular culture, I absolutely despise contemporary comedies set in that decade. I hit my breaking point last night when, after a day of post-blizzard 2010 traveling, I was too tired to get off my bed to retrieve the remote control that would allow me to watch anything other than a show on TBS called Glory Daze. Only then did I discover how Glory Daze symbolizes everything wrong about how we as a society treat the 1980s.

'Top Gun' is all the rage for the 1980s college kids in 'Glory Daze' (Tue., 10Pm Et on TBS). Eli decides to take several cues from the film to pick up a woman. In a white Navy uniform à la Tom Cruise, he struts past a tall, buxom blonde. She approaches him, saying breathily, "So you just point, wink, blow my mind and then leave me hanging?" He replies, "That's what we call a fly-by."

Saturday is Christmas so I hope everyone out there at least has an idea of what they're doing for the holidays since the chances to get it done are rapidly disappearing. Most websites have helpful guides up to when you need to order things to get them in time for Christmas, but at this point it seems a far better idea to go with gift certificates or donations to charity, since the stores are probably unforgiving hellholes. With that cheerful thought, here's your Tuesday night TV:

Skating with the Stars
8/7c ABC
Tonight, someone will glide off the ice as the Skating with the Stars Season 1 champion. And that's no easy feat: This season's injuries and hospital visits have shown how difficult this reality competition is. Five weeks ago, Bethenny Frankel, Jonny Moseley, Rebecca Budig, Vince Neil, Brandon Mychal Smith and Sean Young took to the ice, and now only two are left standing. And for the eventual winner, perhaps the glow of achievement will melt the ice. — Jennifer Sankowski
Read on for previews of Tennis, Living in the Time of Jesus, Minute to Win It, Price of Admission: America's College Debt Crisis, The Day John Lennon Died and Glory Daze.

Now is about the time of month I actually start to try and figure out what I'm going to be buying people for Christmas which I realizes is probably not the best plan. Part of the problem is that, since I grew up around the mid-East Coast I have a hard time accepting the idea that Christmas is around the corner when the weather here is still (mostly) mild and sunny. The other problem is that I'm a very list oriented person, so I put all the more immediate things (finals, papers, work, bills, eating, etc.) on my mental list before Christmas shopping so by the time I get down to it I'm usually out of money and running the risk of all the good gifts being sold out. So, if I'm supposed to be buying you a present for Christmas this year, my sincere apologies and here's your Tuesday...

Television's an interesting mix tonight; most of you are probably tuning into the extra jumbo sized season finale of "Sons of Anarchy" but for any of you out there who aren't watching it, the tide of shitty Christmas specials is going strong and there's something involving some chicks in fancy underwear. And Bob Saget has a new show because apparently what the world has been waiting for is more Danny Tanner in their television lives. Actually, since Uncle Jesse is also back on "Glee" we've only got another five cast members to go before the whole "Full House" crew gets back on TV, but since at least one of them is a meth addict, two are fashion victims of the highest order, and DJ has disappeared from any radar I'm aware of, I don't see that happening soon. And that's your dose of 90's sitcom nostalgia for the day. Here's...

I flew home for Thanksgiving today and after all the mess and fuss about the new security measures in the news, around the interwebs, and on Pajiba lately I was expecting the worst. I had even planned to get to the airport a full two hours before my boarding time so I could make sure I had enough time to get through the disaster that I was sure security would be what with the controversial screenings and holiday coming up. Then I accidentally turned my alarm off while trying to hit the snooze button, so was even more worried and you know what? I just had to walk through a metal detector. No scanner (which I've had to go through before several times) no pat down, no nothing. was almost disappointed. So, I hope that those of you traveling this week have just as easy a time getting where you're going.

No collegiate-comedy cliché goes unturned, from the shtick-figure characters — the virgin, the jock, the stoner — to the predictable debauchery, with gag topics running the gamut from bongs to beer bongs...

Today, a decision I made several months ago caught up with me in a big way. Back at the beginning of the semester I said to myself "Self, you live less than a mile from campus. Buying a parking pass would be a foolish waste of money! And the parking lot is always full anyway! You should walk to school, it's all healthy and green and shit and more importantly you won't have to shell out $500 you don't have." And I've had a great run of it... until today when I took out about ten books from the library to start a research paper. Large books. About Nazis. That doesn't make them heavier, I just felt like mentioning it. I'll be spending the night on the couch with the Advil mourning the fact that I'm not wealthy enough to have a masseuse/masseur come to my apartment. Here's your Tuesday...

The bar for fraternity comedies isn't exactly set high.
Sure, 'Animal House' is a classic, but since that delightful film debuted 32 years ago, college comedies have become increasingly predictable. They feature wild parties, of course, but also the usual campus suspects: the wide-eyed freshman ogling campus babes, the stoner sage dispensing baked wisdom, the weird roommate, the uptight preppies, the charismatic bad boy who educates newbies about Greek life and beer bongs, etc.
Done with the right amount of energy and heart, even a formulaic combination of those elements can end up being rather charming, as is the case with ABC Family's slight but decent college soap 'Greek.'
If you were hoping 'Glory Daze' (10Pm Et Tuesday, TBS) would do anything remotely creative with the usual roster of campus standbys, however, consider your hopes dashed.

In case you hadn’t heard, a new late night talk show had premiered last week. I’m here to tell you that I liked it.
The morning after the first episode of Conan had aired I had read a lot of reviews that seemed to all say the same thing: New show, same stuff. I’m not exactly sure why so many critics would sit there and think that upon his return Conan would do something to shake up the late night talk show landscape. Granted the show Lopez Tonight which gracefully stepped aside to let Conan in does already with its departure from the use of the curtain and desk and replacing it with its auditorium performance feel. Jimmy Kimmel tried to break the Late Night mold by not doing a standing monologue, abandoning the tie for an open collar with visible t-shirt and he discovered that it just doesn’t work.

The four freshman heroes of TBS’ new ‘80s college comedy “Glory Daze,” which debuts Tuesday night at 10, spend a long chunk of the debut episode wandering from fraternity house to fraternity house, not sure which one to pledge. They know that choice will define their future at school, and maybe beyond, and they can’t decide at first. That’s a reasonable approach for the guys. College, especially in the early days, is all about reinventing yourself, deciding who and what you want to be. The problem is that “Glory Daze” itself never stakes a claim to its own identity. It’s tonally...

The networks aren't the only channels with new shows and schedules to announce -- cable channels do, too! Here's a quick look at what's to come for TNT, TBS, and FX:
TNT:

Thus, we've got this show, where Gosselaar and Breckin Meyer play two young "street" lawyers who are newly hired at a stuffy old firm run by Malcolm McDowell. Premiere yet to be announced. Rizzoli & Isles: based on the characters in Tess Gerritsen's mystery novels, Jane Rizzoli, played by Angie Harmon, is a Boston homicide dectective, and Maura Isles, played by Sasha Alexander, is a medical examiner. They're best friends and often work together on cases. The Sopranos' Lorraine Bracco also stars. Premieres July 12 at 10 pm. Memphis Beat: another cop show,...

He didn’t reveal anything about his new show, which will serve as a lead-in to the second season of George Lopez, but he did joke about what he’d like to accomplish.
