Well unfortunately I haven't seen the film as I can't get a copy from sent over to the UK as it appears to only have been released in the US.

My reason for writing, however, is that I was in fact an extra for this film and can assure the previous reviewer that it is set in Oxford, not Cambridge... or at least I hope it is credited to be set in the city of Dreaming Spires as we filmed in Oxford when I was a student there!

The filming took place in a small house, possibly a borrowed student house, underneath the Bridge of Sighs (Hertford Bridge). Confusion may occur simply because there is a Bridge of Sighs in Cambridge, which spans water rather than tarmac, as it does in Oxford.

It seemed to be a low budget entertaining film; my brief remit was to pass between the love birds in a crowded room as their eyes met, ruining their 'moment'...

An Intelligent Interesting Film
GeoData2 March 2002
The universe's eternal triangle, E=MC², is played out in life by Oxford academics delving into the physics of a unified field theory that stumped Einstein at the end of his years. A robust intellectual film that plays out the political realities of university professionals, and the mental and physical entanglements that can occur between people actually using their minds. A film for adults, which is real and smart and touching, about people with relationships of substance and the mysterious realities of life we cannot always explain. The journey has meaning and is enjoyable. The finale is highly satisfying and an exciting intelligent solution to both the academic and personal dilemmi, which closes the movie at full circle from whence it began. Recommended for your enjoyment and your mind.

Only available as USA/Canada VHS under name the "Wavelength". Wanted on DVD widescreen.

Excellent Film

The film puts the superb talents of Jeremy Piven to excellent use in the role of an Oxford Physics Professor. The principles of physics mentioned in the movie were accurate and the descriptions of them were interesting even to an experienced physicist. The repetition of the themes in the movie is well done and provides a satisfying storyline. The character's emotions are very believable, particularly those of the lab group characters. Oxford, of course, provides a beautiful setting for any movie. Overall, this movie combines quality acting and the mysteries of physics to produce a fun experience. This movie is especially recommended for socials involving undergraduate and graduate students majoring in physics.
