Watch out for the petrol station Murderers!
CharltonBoy24 June 2000
Well what can you say about Eddie Izzard? well he is bloody funny to start with. This stage show which was recorded at the Shaftesbury theatre ,London is without doubt one of his best. His topic of discusion range from Noah to fashion(cool, cool, normal, looking like a dick head, cool!) and from James Bond to why dogs got the first say in how to have sex and why all the other animals had to do it doggy style! If you get the video there is a documentary on it which follows him around the world with his act. He even plays in Paris and tries to do it in french. If you have never seen Eddie Izzard watch the Definite Article. 8 out of 10

Brilliance before fame dimmed his stand up star.

One of the definitive Eddie Izzard shows, it is the one that showcases his ability to just run with a topic and spin off into all sorts of wonderful comedy directions. It is here that he had an edge that I personally don't think he has ever quite reached since.

Izzard has this cute way of being able to tap into subjects that we can all associate with. Remember those daft sayings? Those school trips? Standing in a petrol station queue at night time? Or the madness of supermarket shopping? He is also one of those comedians that can visually get you laughing out loud with his mimes as he brings to life the most ridiculous of stories. This remains a favourite stand up show of many, one of the best available on home format releases because it still works on repeat viewings, but the joy is only shortened by the knowledge that the bigger he got the more Izzard let his standards slip.

Definite Article is Definitive Izzard. 9/10 "so yeah"

The best comedy video I have ever seen
skaz-25 September 1999
Eddie Izzard once more keeps a massive audience shaking with laughter as his irreverant humour covers matters such as fashion, late night shopping and sexy tunes! A 'must see,' 'must buy,' and 'must watch over and over again' video.

one of the best (if not the best) stand-up comedians to date

truly one of the best ones, even in izzards, this is really a good one

absolutely strange, unique, and really funny, my favorite comedian, when i saw him for the first time, i couldn't stop laughing, and even now, when i saw all of his videos, i watch them again time to time, it makes my day better, changes a bit my way of looking at stuff, you can't get bored with him, a nd just one thing: you enjoy him much more if you ever been to england for at least a month, cause there's a lot of typically English stuff as well, which you enjoy anyway, but differently if you know a bit about English people

well anyway, go and see it yourself you'll prove me right

and surely the lines will be part of your life after you watched it a few times, that's for sure

Brilliance.

Awesome. Really clever wit and a style all his own...GO EDDIE! James Mason IS God!!! If you have some cash and are thinking of buying a new DVD, do yourself a favour in buying any of Izzards live shows. This man is hilarity personified. It helps if you know a bit about the history of the world and aren't put off by English accents, but any stoners with any cells left should get this (or any Izzard shows) NOW! Think of a mildly eccentric, calmer English version of Bill Hicks. Maybe I'm a bit off the mark, but I lurves Hicks, and I'm sure Bill's got some Izzard DVDs up in heaven.

Did I just blaspheme?!!

Amusing, but it never gave me anything extra

I caught myself giggling from time to time, but I never laughed out loud. However, it is impressive how stand up comedians really hits the bullseye, when it comes to everyday issues. An example would be when he talks about "rolling the batteries in the remote, you get an extra 2 days", or "Que-strategy at the mall"...
