It's a grizzly case. Good opening episode.

Sarah Quin is the latest in a line of victims, murdered by an unknown assailant. It's an intriguing case, no glaringly obvious subjects early on, but it's clearly a killer with a sadistic streak.

It dates back to 1996, but it's set in the 1959's. Credit to the production team, great sets, costumes and cars, they capture the vibe of the time.

Only the TV screen in the surgery scene seemed somehow a little odd, would that have been a thing back then? I'm not sure.

Barron and Pickup are excellent as the lead Detectives, very well acted, but this pair are very good. Love Kate Buffery also.

Good start, 8/10.

A Case of Coincidence: Part One

Keith Barron is Inspector Masters. Ronald Pickup is Chief Inspector Moore.

Set in the 1950s. Both policemen are looking for a break as four women have so far been found strangled in in the fenland of Cambridge.

They have kept watch on a local suspect for months.

When Sarah Quin is killed there is increased pressure on the police. She is the wife of a London doctor who was unaware that his wife was visiting the area.

There could be a breakthrough when a young man Edward Brannel is arrested. However he has learning difficulties and Masters has doubts.

This is a good period piece, just a murder mystery with two very good actors. Barron and Pickup.

As with the period of the time, Edward Brannel might invite the viewer's sympathy. He is below average intelligence and you sense that the police are going to pin the murders on him.

The latest victim Sarah Quin had some ulterior reasons to be away from her husband, maybe she was having an affair. Even Dr Quin invites doubts along with his friend Dr Lucas. She just wants to be too friendly with the newly widowed doctor.
