This film is about average, shy new college freshman Haim starting college in the 1960s he's got the specs the black hair to look like a comlete geek but has encouragment from his friends Keith Coogan (DONT TELL MOM THE BABYSITTERS DEAD)who gets Haim enough courage to ask Joyce(AMI DOLENZ) out on a date and they get it together they face for the first time trust and the responsibility of caring for someone and sharing with them their feelings not Haim's best film but hey the producers didn't even have enough money to release it in ENGLAND so why bother reading the review if only one country can watch it.

Ugh. I only own it 'cause I'm in it.

This movie was shot at the University of Maryland at College Park. I was an extra for about a day and a half. Though it was fun to be on a movie set, I suspected this wouldn't be a quality flick. I wasn't disappointed. I recently re-viewed this sad excuse for a movie and I still think it's horrible. I can't say one nice thing. The script is cumbersome, the lighting is overdone, continuity was an afterthought, the sound levels were all over the place, the wardrobe was inaccurate, etc, etc. I feel bad for the director since this is based on his life, but sometimes doing a job yourself doesn't necessarily mean it gets done right.

Interesting, but liked the location more than the movie

This was a typical low budget flick, but it was shot at University of Maryland one summer while I was working on campus. It's been about 7 yrs since I saw it at a screening on campus, but it was really campy. If you are a UM grad, it's great for the purpose of nostalgia, but not much else.

This move stinks so bad! There's nothing good I can say about it. The acting sucks, cinematography and continuity are totally absent, costumes are incorrect for the period, inaccurate reflection of history, etc. I mean, this is the South in the early 60s? No one has a southern accent and there are as many black people on campus as there are white people(?). The boat in the one scene is fiberglass which has not yet been introduced into commercial boat building and what's the deal with the Chevy that would only be a few years old but looked like it was dragged through death's door? The premise of the movie is a "team growing up" flick but the actors are adults.

It's hard to imagine that anyone would like to watch a 26 year old man pretend to be a kid. Corey Haim, sorry but this movie belongs in the can. Keith Coogan, here's a quote for you to learn for a new career, "Would you like fries with that?"
