Khalil Kain is Gorgeous
darksidelingua5 January 2005
I absolutely love this film!

It needs to be watched if only to drool over the lovely Khalil Kain who I have been in love with since I saw him in Juice. That man is too fine!

The storyline about three women embarking on a singing career and their manager captures you and the acting is excellent and very dramatic. A must see!

The film explores the relationships between the Divas as well as their individual and collective relationships with Mr Kain the main character. We see how fame, love and money can tear as well as build their relationships.

Where can I watch this movie again?
betheldiva6 May 2023
I have searched everywhere looking for this movie. I have every streaming app there is and none of them are streaming this movie! How can I be contacted about where in win I could watch this great cast at their finest! I think that it is absolutely ridiculous to not be able to purchase or watch this movie! What is the big deal? Why is it not available to watch anywhere if there's an app or a streaming channel that I can watch this movie or I would love to be contacted.

Each character is played to the fullest! The storyline is outstanding, and it grabs the viewers attention, and doesn't like to go. But at the end of the movie, you'll laugh with a strong desire to watch it again, and again.

I saw this movie with my children and it's truly a great movie. If anybody own this movie I really would love to own it because I lost mine in hurricane Katrina. The singing on the movie was great.Lisa N.Carson is superb.I love her acting ability. We saw it years ago when it appeared on fox,we also saw it on lifetime also.I don't know if a lot of yall like singing but we did.It dealt with friendship, love, loyalty, tears, laughter, envy, jealousy and trust. So if you find it watch it.I'm sure you will love as much as we did.I hope that I can find it again. So we can have it in our collection again.Ms.Carson,I hope to see her in more singing movies because she was great,as well as the others also.If you find it enjoy it as we did.

Great story about black woman taking charge!!

I loved everything about this movie, I watched it when it aired on Lifetime and also again on Starz!! I just wish it was available on DVD because I would buy it. The music was great in this movie not to mention the wonderful acting.

Also, it was nice to see Nicole Parker in her early years. (Pre-Soul Food) This is a good movie for both male & female viewers. I especially liked the way the director shows the struggles of both the entertainer and his/her love ones. He shows when you are following your dreams, sometimes your love ones sacrifice as much as you do. See this movie!!

Those who like this genre will enjoy this 1995 made-for-TV film
psu010619 December 2006
Young manager and female R & B singers struggle to find success. It's apparent to all that have heard them sing that this group is special, but real life problems, and the fact that their young manager cannot get the right people to hear them keep them singing in second-rate talent shows and clubs for virtually nothing. Throw in a romantic attraction between the manager (Kain) and the newest addition to the group (Parker);a single parent (Lisa Nicole Carson) desperately needing more income;and the lead singer (Tammy Townsend)having difficulties at home largely because of her participation in the group and you have a a very beautiful and talented group of singers struggling to survive.

This made-for-TV movie features Khalil Kain (Darnell, Girlfriends) and Nicole Ari Parker (Teri, HBO Soul Food) and apparently never made it to the big screen. Bill Cobb and Clifton Powell also add their considerable talents and experience to the film's credits. Divas is a familiar tale with strong performances all-around that you might enjoy, particularly if you are a fan of this particular genre. R & B lovers will enjoy the music.

This is a must see classic I hope it gets a blue ray 4k DVD rerelease

If you have not seen this movie you're missing out it's a beautiful music drama, that takes you on a roller coaster ride. Entrepreneurship motivation and inspiration and Pop star Powerhouse singing Expression can't beat it and I have seen nothing like it today. It brings you in makes you feel high, makes you feel low. In this journey in watching this film, what I mean by that, is there's a place that it takes you to make you so all these emotions. You may even see yourself in some of the characters I know I surely did and this spoke high volumes to me and I will forever love this movie. Good..
