Silly but enjoyable
preppy-319 December 2007
Before reality TV hit it big there was this show hosted by talentless Jenny McCarthy and handsome Chris Hardwick. Basically they have a guy (or girl) who gets to choose between 50 specimens of the opposite sex for a date. They get rid of most of them (e.g. the guy will say he doesn't like blond hair--all the blond girls have to leave) and then the remaining 5 or so compete. My details are a little vague--this show was last on 10 years ago.

It was VERY silly and some of the contestants were real jerks but it was an enjoyable non-thinking 30 minutes. Also this gets extra points for doing a gay guy episode. As for the two hosts--McCarthy was incredibly annoying--her screeching and overacting got old quick. I don't care how good-looking she is. By contrast Hardwick wisely underplayed his role. He was was handsome and poked fun at the show (e.g. He started one show saying, "Here we are back with Singled Out...and yes, my house is almost paid for").

So it WAS silly but fun. I give it a 7.

50 single guys vs. 50 single girls = MTV entertainment
KnatLouie28 May 2007
Before reality-TV became the next big thing, this was as close as you'd get to reality (well, at least on MTV).. it was basically a dating-show with elements of comedy in it, and two charismatic hosts (I still think Jenny McCarthy is fantastic) who had to make sure a bunch of singles got a good time, while trying to match some lucky couples together..

Since it's been near 10 years since I've seen the show last, the details are a bit vague, but I remember it as being quite lame, but still entertaining. Sometimes there would be really hot chicks (or guys for the women) on the show, so that would keep a bit of interest... certainly did back when I was a teenager. They had to do funny gags ala pie-in-the-face stuff, lowbrow humour.

Although not a big fan, I'd still like to see the show again if possible.. when are they gonna send this out on DVD?? Or at least show a re-run or two, that would be nice.

Fun game show
Catherine_Grace_Zeh19 July 2006
I used to watch this show when I was growing up. First off, I must say that it was a fun game show. Also, I haven't seen every episode. However, if you ask me, it was still a good show. I remember the theme song pretty well, too. Even so, it was fun to play along and watch. I hope some network brings it back so I can play along and watch again. If that happens, I will be really happy. Before I wrap this up, I'd like to say that I'll always remember this show in my memory forever, even though I haven't seen every episode. Now, in conclusion, if some network ever brings it back, I hope that you catch it one day before it goes off the air for good.

This show use to be fun to watch. Basically it was ok. Its was kinda boring you know. You watch it and you get bored. The guy on there was pretty funny. But, still I wouldnt recomend it unless you wanna be bored out of your freaking mind. They have the weirdest looking people on there.

It's like Dick's Last Resort the TV show

Unlikable Chris Hardwicke and a pre-bad opinion Jenny McCarthy. Everyone is edgy and yelling. Contestants desperate to appear on TV with hosts that match.

World's Introduction to Carmen Electra and Jenny McCarthy!
ShelbyTMItchell4 February 2013
Warning: Spoilers
This was a newer and much more sexier version of the Dating Game show. With fifty guys and fifty girls rather than three. But like the original DG, they were hidden from each other's view.

As they were based like on the DG by personality and character. But the show was much more famous for that on MTV.

As it introduced the world to comedian Jenny McCarthy as she was the only reason that people watched the show. As they love her antics and host Christ Hardwick would usually play the Straight Man of the show.

When McCarthy left to pursue other interests, she was replaced by Carmen Electra. As the show declined in ratings after McCarthy left but Electra held more than her own share.

Still the show was a little horny but MTV is like that!
