Kajol's only film with legends like Jeetendra,Mehmood and Moushmi Chatterjee.
Mehmood flew to Banglore to finish his portions despite suffering a severe heart attack.
The film was originally titled Kaanch Ki Gudiya (Kaagaz Ki Gudiya).
Kajol's father Shomu Mukherjee advised her not to do the film. He reasoned she was cast opposite a C grade hero and it would bring her down. Kajol refused to listen saying Rohit Bhatia was her good friend. When Shomu saw the film he realized the story was solely about a grandfather and his granddaughter.
The film ran into distribution issues as distributors felt the 90s audience could never accept such a weak hero and film about a grandfather's relationship with his estranged granddaughter. It released in November 1994 opposite biggies like Suhaag and Andaaz apna apna and sunk without a trace.
