Waste of time and talent
This movie is an excruciating two hours long, with not a single funny moment to alleviate the boredom. The only interesting thing was watching Nicholas Cage eat scenery while John Lovitz underplayed his part. Dana Carvey developed an interesting little voice for his bit, reminiscent of Robin William's "Popeye" cartoon character. Madchen Amick, Cage's romantic interest, demonstrated little talent.
The movie should have had at least half an hour cut from it. All I can imagine is that Cage owed George Gallo (writer/director) a favor, and Lovitz and Carey wanted the chance to work with him.
Bottom line - don't waste your time.
