Who needs these kinds of friends?
helpless_dancer14 June 2002
After her son dies during a hazing incident his mother becomes a radical in her crusade to have fraternity initiations outlawed. She encounters much stonewalling by college officials and indifference by state politicians. The woman's life was turned upside down and some members of her family alienated from her as she singlemindedly went about attempting to keep this tragedy from being repeated. What makes boys want to socialize with a hall full of drunken cretins intent on partying till they drop? Or go through hellish rituals some of which bring to mind hell day in special forces boot camp? No point at all, but go tell that to the young turks, eh? Good film.

Well the first half of the movie was very good, but halfway through the movie it got way too American and Sugar Sweet. It could have been a lot better.

After her college-aged son dies during a fraternity hazing ritual, Eileen Stevens (Linda Gray) fights for a law to be passed to put a stop to fraternity hazing.
