- Classic hard rock band Raging Kings is making a new record. Talented session guitarist McQueen is called in to replace their disgruntled band member for one recording session. Could this be his one shot at success?
- When personal and creative differences threaten to destroy a musical supergroup during the recording of an album, studio guitar player McQueen is brought in to smooth out the tracks. Soon he is reconsidering the direction of his life as he dreams of the elusive brass ring.—David Fowler
- McQueen works as a professional studio guitar player for hire and, despite knowing better, he still hopes of finding success and fame one day. To his sleepy girlfriend's annoyance, he's called in in the middle of the night one day to join a rock band in their recording studio as a back up guitarist. It turns out that popular hard rock band Raging Kings is making a new record but they had a fight with their hotheaded guitar player Dean Storm and now they're a musician short. McQueen gladly takes over his spot for the session and fits right in with the band. In fact, the recording session goes so well that the band's singer Torrey Cole, the bass player Chris Manning and the drummer Spider Moore agree to ask McQueen to replace Storm for good and become their new member. The band's manager Peter Goffigon, female backup singer Darey Vance and producer Neal are all loving the idea. However, McQueen is not sure, fearing disappointment. After thinking about it for a second he gives in and agrees. With their hopes high, they continue the session only to stop when repentant Storm reappears.
