Two wacky characters in a meandering road movie .......
merklekranz3 May 2012
Ex-cons Gregory Hines and Christopher Lloyd hit the South Carolina road in a stolen Chrysler, with a gun and no sense of where they are going. After failing to stick up a store, things deteriorate to the point where a shady used car lot owner, Rip Torn, takes advantage of the boys, taking their convertible off their hands for $105. Next a self ordained preacher , living under a bridge, forces them at gunpoint to "donate" their money to his outdoor "church". Seeking honest work, they stumble into the hands of a grotesque fat woman who requires their "services" in her bedroom. Leaving in a hurry with the "boss lady's" purse, the local sheriff then relieves them of the stolen cash. So it goes, with one misadventure after another for the squabbling pair. Though the film eventually runs out of steam, "T Bone N Weasel" has it's moments of low brow humor. - MERK

It's not perfect...

If you ever wondered what Christopher Lloyd looked like when he had hair/wasn't Doc Brown, well this is a good start. The film is a TV movie about two con men on a road trip to... well, that's one of the few problems with the film. The film doesn't really have much of a reason for things to happen. The film starts with Gregory Hines' character T-Bone getting out of jail and Christopher Llyod's character Weasel getting evicted from his house and the two decide to hit the road. They steal a car but they don't have a destination in mind. They just kinda go from place-to-place, but the film actually has some really clever moments. The film has a very subtle theme of racism to it and it's done fairly well. People are always glaring at T-Bone and the ending ties into this, and the film has a few memorable scenes. The humor is also pretty funny, having me and present company laughing so hard we needed to pause the movie at times to breathe. It's far from perfect, but if you need a movie for a quick and simple laugh, I recommend "T-Bone n Weasel," even despite it's flaws.

Warning: Spoilers
I really enjoyed this film. Though not the best work I've seen by Hines or Lloyd but well worth taking a look at. *(maybe a slight spoiler warning)* This is a very funny story of new friendship and the very interesting situations that these new friends seem to find themselves falling into along the way....If you enjoy a good movie with a lot of laughs you should give this one a try!!
