plot summary for Donne con le gonne

A man is accused of spousal abuse, having allegedly chained his wife to a wall. The lawyer defending him takes us through the history of how he and his wife met and their marriage over a period of several years, culminating in the alleged kidnap and chaining of his own wife. What could lead a husband to do this? What will the court decide? Will his wife forgive him? All is revealed at the end.

The film is very funny in parts, sad in others. I enjoyed it because it accurately captures the problems of marriage, albeit in an exaggerated form.

Personally this movie marked a period of my life!! I rated excellent because probably is the best movie with "Caruso Paskoski di padre Polacco" from Francesco Nuti. He talks with a lot of irony about the social change in the Italian Tuscan countryside, of the relationship between woman and man. The switch from life after world war and the '60 big growth in social wealth: first TV, first Car the famous 500 or 600, the vacation to the seaside resorts etc. The inheritance of the past in a modern life, a modern man, actually a psychiatrist that falls in love with a rebellious '69 free woman and the growth of her... The willing to return to the past simple, relationship between woman and man, housewife and man bringer of bacon...It can be hard to understand to a modern American palate, but for many represent a kind of lost balance. A lot of the fun is given also by the Italian slang like "trombare" that means play the trumpet but also making love and so on... I think that is well made because actually there is not judgment at the end but the continuous, hilarious fight of the sexes.
