One scene concerned director Diane Kurys. Two 8-year-olds, a boy and a girl, are playing on a beach: The game is doctor. 'May I tickle you?' the boy asks. The answer is no. He asks again. She agrees, reluctantly. He turns her on her back, unties the strap of her bathing suit and gently massages her. "The kids weren't scared; I was the one who was a wreck because I wanted to get it right," Kurys explained. "I didn't want to hurt them and I wanted them to understand we weren't voyeurs. The girl asked me, 'I don't have to be naked?' That was the only concern for her."
