Struggle for truth
Galicius14 February 2012
At the heart of this film is a struggle for expression and historical truth demanded by students of a high school (gymnasium) in their senior year before working for their final exams and the faculty principally one hard liner for whom the last work in education is the official government version of history and politics. I have seen such on a smaller scale but in grade school during a struggle between the Gomulka regime and the church over religious education in public schools in the late 1950's. This is late 1980's when Solidarity was in jails and underground. There are leaders here both among students and among sympathetic faculty.
