until watching this again recently, i had all but forgotten about cutting artwork into my griptape, skating a fat deck with extra wide wheels, and the never ending search for an empty pool (we never did find one -- no droughts in south Florida). i remembered cops, cars, and pedestrians as enemies, menacing the public with group street shreds, handplants, airs of all kinds, flipsides, grinds, shreds, shuvits, drop ins and so on and so forth. i never got to be so fancy good.
great soundtrack, bonus performance by the chili peppers, and for anyone on a quest for pamela gidley movies, then this is a must. she's *almost* acceptable in it, if only she'd wear ripped black fishnets and big red earrings. there's a slew of old school skaters here too, as well as a bible of forgotten old school tricks.
the plot mostly sucks and is rather predictable, much like the karate kid but with beer and skateboards. i won't argue with that.
