- No sex and nudity in this film. The closest to sex is the interaction between Christy and Dark Heart in a preteen human form. The closest to nudity is characters in bathing suits during the lake sequence.

- The boat gets struck by lightning.
- A boy bullies Christy and her friends, and makes them pick up garbage while he and the other kids get to play in their spare time.
- Dark Heart hits his head on the side of a boat and falls, nearly drowning, only for Christy to then save his life.

- Even though this is a G rated movie, it is infamous for the frightening themes, mostly the scenes that feature the malevolent Dark Heart. Luckily these elements weren't used in latter Care Bears media. Think twice before allowing your small children of watching it.
- Scenes, where Dark Heart's eyes glowing pierce red, saying "NO! GET AWAY FROM ME!" in such an evil, scary voice, and where the Care Bears get turned into crystals, can be a little too frightening for smaller children.
- The scene where Christy dies could be pretty emotional.

- At the end of the film, it is implied that a nameless red haired boy, who is formerly Dark Heart, formed a relationship with Christy. It shows them holding hands.
