• Cindel : [singing]  My Star keeps me company and leads me through the night/My Star watches over me and fills my dreams with light/Some things change but some things shine forever as they are/In the sky, shining high, My Star.

• Cindel : Mace? Mace!

  Mace : [under fire]  Get back, Cindel!

  Cindel : [looks to the unconscious form of her mother lying next to Mace]  Mommy!

  Mace : Run, Cindel! Get help! Get Dad!

  Cindel : [Cindel runs off to find their father] 

  Mace : [Mace looks at his bracelet, seeing his mother's life indicator blinking. He grips his blaster tightly and continues to fire] 

  Mace : [a laser blast explodes over his head]  Oooooff!

  [realizing he is in a bad spot, Mace grabs his mother by the arms and drags her into a nearby hut. The mauraders target the hut Mace just entered, and fire, destroying it] 

  Cindel : [Cindel sees and hears the explosion. She stops to look at the flame plume, then down to her bracelet. Both her mother's and Mace's life indicators go out; they have been killed. Cindel resumes running to find her father] 

• Jeremitt : [after running from the maurader attack with Cindel, Jeremitt finds a hiding spot to rest. He has been hit in the shoulder by a laser blast]  Are you all right, sweetheart?

  Cindel : Mmm hmm. Mommy, Mace, they're dead.

  Jeremitt : I know. But we need to be strong now. You remember the song your mother sings to you about the little bird?

  Cindel : [nods]  Mmm hmm.

  Jeremitt : Well, I'm going to need you to be strong like that little bird. Now, I want you to run, and find Deej, and the Ewoks will help you.

  Cindel : No Daddy, I want to stay here with you!

  Jeremitt : Now listen to me. You will do as I say. Now, when I say go, you run. Run hard and fast, and don't look back.

  [hugs his daughter tightly] 

  Jeremitt : Cindel, I will always be with you! I love you!

  [the mauraders are closing in on Jeremitt and Cindel's position. Jeremitt loudly whispers to Cindel...] 

  Jeremitt : Cindel, go! Run fast, just run, run!

  [runs out of the hiding spot to draw the mauraders attention. He shoots one of them and runs in the opposite direction Cindel is, to get them to chase him instead of her. The mauraders give chase, shooting at Jeremitt, mortally wounding him. The last we see of Jeremitt is his arm trying to raise up from where he has fallen and then slumping over, dead] 

• Terak : [Charal has brought Cindel before Terak. He reaches out to stroke her face]  Oh, what a cute little girl!

  Cindel : What have you done with the Ewoks?

  Terak : The Ewoks?

  Cindel : My friends!

  Terak : Oh, they are here as my... guests! My most honored guests!

  Cindel : You better not have hurt them!

  Terak : Oh, I won't hurt them. Not

  [he motions for one of his soldiers to bring him the power cell taken from Cindel's family's star cruiser, which he sets down in front of her] 

  Terak : if you make *this* work.

  Cindel : How?

  Terak : Use your magic.

  Cindel : I don't know anthing about *magic*!

  Terak : Make it work!

  Cindel : I can't!

  Charal : Don't be foolish, do as he says.

  Cindel : I can't! I can't!

  Charal : You don't want to incur his wrath!

  Cindel : But it doesn't do anything! It's just a piece of the star cruiser! You just have to plug it into something!

  Terak : Exactly! The power wil allow me to cruise the stars! I will give you until dawn. If you have not done as I have commanded, you and your *friends* will be doomed!

  [looks to Charal] 

  Terak : And you will suffer in her fate!
