This is one of the few long features produced by Costa Rica. It is an adaptation of Alberto Cañas' play, which he called "a freudian study" about madness and prejudice in colonial Costa Rica (worth reading!). The movie has many of the problems you'd expect of an underdeveloped and inexpert film industry, but given its limited resources, the crew made an acceptable job. There are some good performances by many of the country's most prominent theater figures. Provides an interesting glimpse at the lifestyle and scenery of the times.
