Nobody's wife

It would be nice to write that this film is a wonderful tribute to the women (doctors, nurses) who ceasessly work in the hospitals .At first sight ,the film appears to be something like that, and at this juncture,it is highly relevant.

But after the first ten minutes, one is becoming disenchanted :it's the umpteenth story of bourgeois people ,who have unhappy love lives ,with all the usual clichés ( the divorced woman, the failed suicide, the opportunity to start a brand new life ,the abandoned woman, the love triangle ,etc ); Caroline Cellier and Marthe Keller are convincing as doctors and as women who show a firm independence of men,but Fanny Cottençon is not.Although at the top of the bill ,Jean-Louis Trintignant's appearances are few and far between.

Typical eighties psychological drama :well acted, but dull and boring.
