Condo: "Coulda-shoulda-woulda"
happipuppi1322 July 2005
Condo! Oh,yes! I remember watching this in 1983,second 1/2 of my freshman high school year! In fact the day it debuted I was sick in bed with the flu. I thought this show was really great and certainly better than any previous attempts at getting MacLean Stevenson a successful series. It coulda, shoulda and woulda been a hit if it had been given a longer chance to get noticed.

Unlike the dumb-dad "Hello Larry",at least in this show he has a brain, despite it being prejudiced and loud mouthed. I don't look at the show as trying to create a new Archie Bunker but more so it shows the ridiculous way people act when confronted with people different than they are.

You really can't blame the fathers for being upset. These are two teen-agers who went and made a baby together with no thought of the circumstances. In real life (especially in that era) the parents would have thrown them both out of their homes. ..but,this is TV after all. I was sorry that it didn't last because I was really getting into it but if it should ever pop up on DVD somewhere,I give it an 8 out of 10 star rating. If you're a MacLean Stevenson fan,it's for you! I liked seeing Luis Avalos outside the Electric Company for a change,he at least went on to "Hangin With Mr. Cooper".

From what I remember, I liked this show!

I was only 10 years old when this show debuted, but I remember liking it a lot. Would love to see an episode now to see if it is what I remember. Although, this is one of those sitcoms that will sit in a vault and never re-appear.

Always liked Maclean Stephenson, especially on M*A*S*H...but I am not sure he was anything more than a great member of an ensemble cast. But the networks were so certain to launch him into his own show. Most of them were horrible failures, but this one I thought actually had promise.

A decent comedy and cast...that was a mid-season replacement show if I remember correctly. This is now common, but unusual back in 1983.

horribly unfunny

Horribly unfunny sitcom that pretty much ended McLean Stevenson's TV career. An on-their-way-down white family live next door to an up-and-coming Hispanic family. Crude racist humor seems even more crude when coming from the formerly cuddly and inoffensive Mac. As uncomfortable to watch as it was unfunny the show was only memorable for the beautiful Julie Carmen as the Hispanic daughter married to the white bigot's son. This show will probably never be seen again in our lifetime, for good reason.
