- Lots of sexual conversation. Some involving the word "fuck" being used very casually. Nathan also uses the language when accusing Sophie of cheating on him("Did you spend the whole fucking afternoon with him or the whole afternoon with him fucking?!")

- We briefly see the dead bodies of a man and women who have committed suicide.

- In one particularly emotional scene, Sophie is being forced to pick between her two children. This will be hard for any viewers.
- Sophie and Nathan both commit suicide at the end of the film.
