High Emotions Drama
OldisgolD19 April 2006
"People don't like warring with words" crowed a film magazine from 1985. This assertion gave me the impression that the movie would be replete with verbal wars between the contesting advocates in the court. However when I rented the movie to verify the claim, it had a little legal war, and that too was a bit stereotypical. The movie, however, had its other rewards to offer. A simple, no-nonsense plot about the woes of the family of a wrongly executed man, this film for the most part matches the reaction to the action with minimal overacting. The culminating scene wherein Anil Kapoor, apart from rescuing his mother, gives vent to his pent up feelings of righteous anguish and indignation against the vile acts of Amreesh Puri due to which he had to lead all his life in bitterness -- physical and mental -- is the highlight of the movie in my opinion. In this emotional tirade, we the viewers, have emotions exactly like a person would have, who has been victimised thus. This sympathy of emotions is the biggest achievement of this film. The music of the film is more than just good, specially the theme song, "Zindagi har qadam ik nai jang hai.." which is yet another spellbinding creation of Laxmikant- payarelal duo.

Good Entertainer

Good entertainer.

Revenge drama with a simple storyline.

Anil Kapoor at his dashing stylish best. Amrish Puri equally good.

Support cast good to their roles. Nutan as the mother, Javed Jaffrey for dancing. Meenakshi Sheshadri is only in this for the beauty factor.

Simple storyline, and indeed proof that Subhash Ghai really created good movies in the 80's.

One of the few Subhash Ghai movies that does not slow in between, keeps up a good pace.

Credit also should go to the good editing.

Climax fight could have been better..

Legal Drama with 1980s Indian Stereotypical Patriarchal trash
erbwivem30 June 2022
Pure unadulterated 1980s Cringe: Example of 1980s Indian dating shown are: The Ex comes to the guys current girlfriends house to expose his him as a cheat. She shows her "love letters" he wrote to her ALSO!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣😍. HE then *KILLS* the ex girlfriend out in the open, lmaooo. Can't get cringier with 1980s Bollywood.

1980s Indian law: Person gets hanged within minutes of judgement. No need for Death Row in india.

This movie is just DATED, period. Mentions of "Madhouses" (Indian vernacular for Pyschiatric Institution), lawyers TOUCHING women in the witness stand, screaming in court, confessing crimes within earshot of anyone. The bad guy DRINKING ALCOHOL! Just nuts. But HILARIOUS to watch anyway.

Best part: Nutan! What a beauty.
