Gareth Evans said "A big influence for the final fight in The Raid was this Jackie Chan film. It was one of his earlier films before he started playing around with Project A and Armour Of God. Chan and Mars, one of his stunt guys, had a two-on-one fight with Hwang In-Shik, one of the Korean martial artists who did tae kwon do and had fought Jackie already in The Young Master in 1980. The fight is brutal! Jackie and Mars play characters that didn't have much experience of martial arts so when it came to The Raid, similarly, Mad Dog is the stronger one of the fighters between the three of them, so the other two constantly throwing themselves at Mad Dog until he slowly breaks and can't keep fighting anymore."
