The famous "teddy" sausages were made personally by the film crew, because you couldn't buy decent-looking ones anywhere. First, a permit was obtained to buy a few meters of mutton intestine, into which the meat was then stuffed without any additives, so that on the second day the sausages changed color from "meat" to aquamarine.
The main character of the film was supposed to be called "Nowohucki", but for political reasons it was shortened to "Ohucki" and then changed to "Ochódzki" to make it sound more Polish.
