The film was released extremely late onto VHS home video. Though the film released in 1980, the VHS of the film was finally released in 1986.
The title sequence of the film had animated versions of Amitabh Bachchan and Shashi Kapoor, and was done in the visual style of 'The Pink Panther'.
The opening title sequence with the cartoon animation had a disco/funk version of the classic song "The Ritual Fire Dance". The original composer of the song was Latin composer Manuel de Falla. The song was later redone by musician Ron Goodwin. He released the classic song on his album "Gypsy Fire & Rhythm and Romance". The Ron Goodwin version was also heard in Dharmatma (1975) when Sudhir takes Zahira to the beach and shares her with Ranjeet. 2:59 of the song "Mere Galiyon Se Logo Ke Yaari" from Dharmatma also had the same tune . The song "Danza Ritual Del Fuego" (Ritual Fire Dance) by Paul Mauriat from the album Pegase, was used in the Do Aur Do Paanch title music/sequence. Coincidently musician composer Paul Mauriat had another connection to Amitabh Bachchan. Paul recreated a instrumental version of Kalyanji Anandji song "O Saathi Re" from Muqaddar Ka Sikander, for his international album Cleopatre. The album was released in 1980,the same year as Do Aur Do Paanch. "Ritual Fire Dance" by Stanley Black was used in previously in a scene in Feroz Khan's Raat Andheri Thi (1967).The Ritual Fire Dance" is played in the film Chhaila Babu (1977) while Rajesh Khanna watches Zeenat Aman secretly in the room. The same music was used in Dheeraj Kumar, Shatrughan Sinha film Raaton Ka Raja. It apears in the climax fight.
Praveen Babi's voice is dubbed by a dubbing artiste in the film. She had dissapeared to America at the time.
Rajesh Roshan sampled the "La Cucaracha" tune , which is a traditional Spanish folk corrido that became popular in Mexico during the Mexican Revolution. He used the tune for the song "Tune Abhi Dekha Nahin". He sampled it in the part "Jo Soche,Jo Chahe Woh Karke "...It has the same rhythm.
