Mystical memories

This will not be a helpful review, but I felt like it was necessary to write something! I remember watching this movie on HBO over and over when it came to cable. As you might be able to tell from the cast list, there are basically a handful of young kids that runaway from home. (I don't remember if they knew each other before running away.) They find an old house in which they build a fort, a place to take care of each other and pool their resources.

I remember thinking the movie was romanticizing runaways. At eight years old, if it weren't for the fact that I actually liked my parents, I would have run away right away. Between _Annie_ and _Never Never Land_, though, it was tough.

Sorry I don't remember more. Maybe I've inspired someone to write a real review/summary.

Wonderful film

As a result of watching this inspirational film I took my children to Kensington Gardens where they, who had also been inspired by it, wrote their own notes and placed them in the statue of Peter Pan. They are now grown up but still remember it. Please can it be released as a dvd because I seem to have lost my video tape of it. We would love our grandchildren to watch it too. My children hung around to watch in case an elderly lady came and read the notes. They didn't want to leave the statue. It was such a good film and Petula Clark was brilliant in it. I gather she is now 90 - wouldn't it be a wonderful tribute to her if it were released again?
