The definitive Palm Beach film (so far)
PeterM2717 November 2021
This is a surprisingly good low-budget film from underground veteran film-maker Albie Thoms.

The narratives of each of the stories with their different characters in Sydney's Palm Beach are intertwined, moving from story to story as the days pass, with each story finding a conclusion by the end of the film.

The film also has a very interesting use of sound, with the sound from one story overlapping with the picture from the next story, and radio news bulletins and ads playing (amusingly) as the characters drive around the suburb.

Though the spectacular scenery is somewhat muted (looking rather hazy), the film really captures the atmosphere of this (once laid-back and now affluent) beach suburb, and the feel of the 70s.

Bryan Brown, a Palm Beach local, is the only really big name actor in the film, though John Clayton and John Flaus also appeared in lots of local films and TV shows.
