Sex & Nudity

  • Intro credits has lots of women in lycra and suggestive clothing but no nudity - plenty of this through the rest of the movie as well. Plenty of kissing through the movie but no sex.
  • Note: the television version of the movie (broadcast under the title "Awakening") replaces the suggestive opening credits with a more innocuous version.

Violence & Gore

  • No blood whatsoever. People firing laser guns. People being blown off their feet by explosions without warning. Very mild grappling between characters although one character is kicked in the privates. Lots of spaceships blowing up.
  • One character is killed by Buck Rogers who straps a bomb to him and blows him up. This scene is deleted from the television version of the movie as that character later returns in another episode.

Profanity

  • One use of the word shit but otherwise nothing. Twiki does mention his ball-bearings though.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Buck Rogers is given an overdose of pain killers which make him laugh and clownish. He renders Princess Ardala unconscious by spiking her drink with stimulants behind her back.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Only scenes that could be deemed frightening feature Captain Buck Rogers being chased by mutants, but they are not very frightening. Regardless, Colonel Wilma Deering soon arrives with a combat group to save him, but she orders him shot with a stun blast when he refuses to return to the city quietly.
