In the beginning, when Montoya asks Miguel to check on loose cows on the south pasture, the horse behind Miguel has no tack (no saddle, harness, halter, etc.). Montoya gives Miguel a bottle, and when Miguel turns to mount the horse, it's completely tacked up.
When Columbo rear-ends the other vehicle, separation is created between the cars by the crash. In the next shot, the vehicles are in contact with each other.
After the accident, when Lt. Columbo hands the Mexican policeman his ID wallet (where Columbo's first name is seen to be Frank), the badge says "Lieutenant", but the badge on the ID card says "Sergeant".
When the police officer opens Columbo's badge wallet, one can see the ID card contains an image of an actual LAPD badge with the word "Sergeant" and a number printed. However, the word Lieutenant appears at the bottom of the card. The metal badge in the wallet is neither a LAPD badge or in the LAPD badge style, and the numbers on it do not match the badge image on the ID card.
When Hector is tranquilized, he is only 5 feet away from the back wall, but in the next camera shot, when Luis crosses the bullring to release the bull, Hector is 20 feet or more away from the back wall, toward the center of the enclosure.
Columbo says, "Here's the weather report. Heavy winds, 30 kilometers an hour." 18 MPH winds are not that heavy.
One cannot sit up straight in bed in a jolt when awaking from a loss of consciousness.
When Columbo is asking Montoya if this was Hector in the photo he points to the picture on the far right. Yet the photo on the left is what is shown.
At various points in the episode, while Columbo and Sanchez are walking down busy streets, swaths of people can be seen staring at the camera crew filming.
When Columbo is speaking to the police chief in the piazza, he talks about the bull being used as the weapon. He finishes speaking, but spliced in, Columbo can be heard asking, "who would do such a thing..." with no lips moving. It is directly followed by "Montoya perhaps?"
Columbo questions Miguel saying to him, "I understand sir that you were the only one on the ranch at the time of the murder." At the time of this statement, everyone thought the death was an accident, and the word "murder" should have been quite a surprise to Miguel. But his answer was, "Yes, sir, you're right." It should have been more like "What murder? It was an accident!"
Colombo is wearing a suit, tie, and overcoat even though he is supposed to be on vacation.
