Buford pulls over a lumber truck hauling moonshine while driving a blue Monte Carlo. In the next scene, Buford is still driving the green Chevy Impala and on his way to pickup the Monte Carlo.
When Obra Eaker is driving Pusser's green 1975 Impala, a quick shot of the speedometer reveals it to actually be the speedometer on a Camaro, not an Impala. The '75 Impala had a long, linear speedometer, not the round-gauge type, shown in the shot.
The damage shown to the engine compartment of Stud Pardee's Camaro is inconsistent compared to the places Buford hits with his stick. For example, Buford is never shown hitting the master cylinder, yet it is shown to be sheared away from the vacuum pump.
When Ray Henry called @131:31 to Ruby Ann the clock was 9:44 Way later He calls again @143:19 and the clock was 9:46 . Same lamp and bed sheet colors, and walnut night stand ....So 2 scenes were shot back to back .
Although the film is supposed to take place in or around 1967, most of the primary cars that are driven by Buford, Pinky Dobson, Stud Pardee, and the McNairy County Sheriff patrol cars are all new 1975 Chevrolets.
When Pinky Dobson is shooting at Sheriff Pusser during the chase, the slide on his gun (Browning Hi Power) is locked back, indicating the gun has fired its last round, yet it still shoots.
When Pusser is chasing Stud Pardee and his wheel falls off you can see all the skid marks on the road from the previous takes.
When Stud Pardee slides his Camaro sideways to park it at the smoke house (meeting with Pinky Dobson), he hits the ground level camera that was setup in front of the trashcan. This camera would have shown a low-angle shot of the camaro sliding in to park.
When Buford is destroying Stud Pardee's blue Camaro, a canvas sign on the building reads "McNairy County Livestock Auction". Later in that scene, a wooden, painted sign reads "Madison County 4-H Clubs Welcome You".
A fabricated skid plate can be seen just behind the front suspension after Pusser loses a wheel while chasing the blue Camaro.
Stud Pardee tells Pinky Dobson that he "knew exactly where he was gonna end up", after sliding his Camaro in to park at the smokehouse. Stud actually hit the low-angle camera that was setup in front of the trash can, ruining that shot.
