Death Cruise (TV Movie 1974) Poster

(1974 TV Movie)

Tom Bosley: David Mason

Quotes

  • David Mason : [steps out of the bathroom in matching red and white Hawaiian shirt and shorts]  Here I am, the real me. Neat, but not gaudy.

    [his wife stares at him]

David Mason : What's the matter?

Elizabeth Mason : I think I'm gonna be seasick.

David Mason : How can you be seasick? We haven't even left the dock yet.

  • Elizabeth Mason : David, what if any one of the kids needs us and we're not there?

David Mason : Well, then they'll just have to muddle through without us.

  • Jerry Carter : Say, have we met someplace before?

    James Radney : I don't think so.

Jerry Carter : That's funny, you all look very familiar. But, I'll remember, never forget a face. Did I miss anything?

Sylvia Carter : Well as a matter of fact, Mrs. Radney was just telling us how they won this cruise in a contest.

Jerry Carter : You're kidding, so did we!

David Mason : [Elizabeth nods]  E and M Promotions, three weeks all expenses paid.

Jerry Carter : Well what do you know? There must've been more than one first prize.

  • James Radney : What do you do, Mr. Mason?

David Mason : Does it really matter, Mr. Radney?

James Radney : What do you mean?

David Mason : Well if I told you that I was a ditch digger, you'd form an opinion of me from that, and if I told you I was a wealthy, powerful, industrial magnet, you'd form a different opinion based on the simple answer to that simple question. Instant status. So I'll tell you what, I'm going to let you figure it out for yourself, and you let me know what you come up with.

James Radney : Well I'll grant you one thing, you don't seem stupid.

David Mason : That only proves that I could be a very smart ditch digger.

  • David Mason : It's not even noon yet, don't you think you're rushing the cocktail hour?

    Elizabeth Mason : I'm bored!

    David Mason : Lord.

Elizabeth Mason : David, you've still got your work, but I don't have mine anymore. As you pointed out, the children are grown up and gone, and I'm bored!

David Mason : Oh please, Elizabeth.

Elizabeth Mason : No, no, you're right. The magic is gone! All 30 years' worth. This may not be easy for you to swallow, but you were never the magic the children were, and I thank you for that. All I ever was to you was chief cook, and hostess, with sleep-in privileges. The children were my life, because without them I wouldn't have had any life at all. Because you were always out to lunch. Now all of a sudden it's just you and me, babe, just the two of us, and I'm sorry David, but that would *really* have to be magic.

David Mason : Look Elizabeth, I really don't want to hear this from you, not in this way.

Elizabeth Mason : You can dish it out but you can't take it!
