The only show to offer a $10,000 antique fishbowl.

The fishbowl that I mentioned above was one of the prizes offered on the infamous series finale of the late 1970s version of High Rollers. I say "infamous" because it is rumored that Alex Trebek was either drunk or high while making said series finale. Among the zany things Alex said in this episode was "Stayin' alive with the Bee Gees" (most likely referring to a good roll of the dice), "Many moon come...a niner" (most likely referring to a roll of 9 on the dice), "We're gonna add something to it...fish" (referring to the fishbowl), "You lost the fishbowl" (once again referring to the fishbowl), and the classic "Seven-ahhh!!!" (most likely referring to a roll of 7 on the dice).

Overall the show itself was pretty good, but the series finale gives it a kind of cult status.

Fun game show

I used to watch this show when I was a little girl. Although I don't remember it very well, I must say that it was a pretty good show. Also, since I am 24, I haven't seen every episode. However, if you ask me, it was still a good show. I don't remember the theme song at all, though. Even so, it was fun to play along and watch. I hope some network brings it back so I can play along and watch again. If that happens, I will be really happy. Before I wrap this up, I'd like to say that I'll always remember this show in my memory forever, even though I haven't seen every episode. Now, in conclusion, if some network ever brings it back, I hope that you catch it one day before it goes off the air for good.

Contestant on High Rollers

In the mid 70's I was a contestant on the Alex Trebek game show "High Rollers ". I was a flight attendant in those days. While on a 36 hour layover in Los Angeles, I took a bus to Hollywood to the production office of "High Rollers". Arriving there, I asked if I could have an interview for becoming a contestant? The receptionist told me they only held group interviews at certain times throughout the year. Disappointed, I explained my situation, currently living in Miami and to coming back to LA on a certain day would be difficult. She gave me a schedule of the open interview dates and if I could come to one of those group interviews, they could see me then. As I was about to leave a women came out of her office telling the receptionist she would see me. Surprisingly, she had heard the conversation and was the contestant coordinator. We had an interview, she accepted me as a semi-contestant. That meant on the day of taping (they taped 5 30 minute shows in one day) i would be in a group that the assistant coordinator would select a new contestant each time a previous contestant lost. No guarantee you would be selected. I was selected that day. I was undefeated champion and won the equivalent of over $160,000 in today's $$$ of cash and prizes. Years later I was a contestant on Hollywood Squares.
