Sex & Nudity

  • A woman sees a vision that seems to come from a statuette in the bedroom of a man and woman having some kind of sex. Moaning is also heard. The vision is in silhouette only.
  • Possessed by the spirit of Belasco, Ann Barrett comes down the stairs at night and begins to seduce Mr. Fischer saying words like "us...together...naked...drunk..." and then drops her nightgown. She is seen only from the back, waist up. Later there is a similar scene by the same character.
  • Walking in a trance, a woman lustfully rubs the breasts of a female statue near the foot of the stairs. There are also several paintings of nude women in various rooms.
  • A woman disrobes in a darkly lit room, the silhouette of her body is briefly visible. Immediately after this her bedsheets are pulled down to reveal a partial clear shot of her breast.

Violence & Gore

  • A woman is repeatedly attacked by evil forces throughout the movie. She gets bloody wounds from each time. Once, her attacker is a possessed cat.
  • A female character is crushed to death by a giant statue of Jesus. Blood seeps from her corpse.
  • A man is impaled by exploding machinery and hit by a chandelier. He dies.
  • People and objects are thrown around by ghosts.

Profanity

  • "Shit", "damn" and "bitch" are used a few times.

  • Alcohol consumption in a couple of scenes.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • this is a horror movie. it is meant to be intense and frightening. the atmosphere alone can be too intense for some. The film also has a bit of a slightly silly undertone, but this sometimes adds to the scares, and may only be noticed by some.
