Plot Summary |
A talented artist (Rajesh Khanna) falls in love with a London-returned doctor, but his past creates problems for him. When that part of his past is resolved and he is to marry the girl he loves, he loses his eyesight in an accident and wounds up a prisoner of a cruel princess. He escapes, and is helped by another man, who nurtures and allows him to recuperate. When the artist returns home to find that the girl he wants to marry is engaged to the man who helped him recover. These songs are still popular: "Kitne arman, kitne sapne laya hoon main dekko na..."; "Diwana lekke aaya hai dil ka karaar, dekho kahin yaaron tukra na dena mera nazrana..."; "Diwana karke chodoge lagta hai yoon humko, sau bar kaha eh jane jahan yu pyar se tum dekka na karo..."; "O mere dil ke chain, chain aye mere dil ko dua kijiye..."; "Chala jata hoon kisiki dhoon me dadakte dil ke tarane liye..."; Written by rAjOo (gunwanti@hotmail.com) |

Trivia | Producer Harish Shah thrashed Manoj Kumar in his book. The distributor pleaded with Harish to delay his film Mere Jeevan Sathi and not release it with Shor. Rajesh was a super star in those days. The distributor agreed to give Harish the Bombay theatre Apsara to release his film provided he not release the film with Shor and release it the following week. Harish finally gave in and agreed. On the weekend Mere Jeevan Saathi released ,Harish went to visit Apsara theatre and saw the entire tickets were bought and now being sold for a cheaper low rate of rupees 25 by the black ticket scalper boys. This way the collections of Mere Jeevan Saathi would be low. Harish asked them why they were doing this to sabotage his film. They told Harish they were paid to do this. Upon further asking he found out it was Manoj Kumar who was playing this game. Manoj did not want competition from a Rajesh Khanna film. Manoj had bought the tickets and now selling it at a bad rate. A few months later Manoj feeling guilty sent a offer to act in Harish Shah's future film. Harish gave him a piece of his mind and declined the offer. See more » |
