"King Eagle" Chan Fei, a solitary knight, meets a dying swordsman. He is Chu Hung, Tien-I Gang's 6th leader, who reveals their first leader Hung Ching-tien murdered their chief in a power struggle. Returning home, Chan is met by Hung and his cohorts. A fight ensues, but Chan is the superior swordsman. Hung then orders villains Tu and Pa to kill Chan, but with the aid of swordswoman Yen Yu-lien, Tien-I Gang's 7th leader, Chan slays his two would be assassins. Undaunted, Hung sets another villain, Wen Hao-pa, on Chan. Wen agrees to kill him provided he will then become Tien-I Gang's chief. Reluctantly, Hung promises. Entering the Tien-I hideout, Chan and Yu-lien fight a gory battle, in which Yu-lien is fatally wounded by a poisoned pin. Dying, she entreats Chan to spare her evil sister, Ping-erh. The latter is unintentionally slain, however, by Wen. Finally, Wen and Hung themselves are killed. Chan resumes his solitary course.
