I like the animation, story, characters and music. It's so nostalgic to me.
I watched it in 2009 and I still like this series.

The Origin of The Lion King
kentalvin31 July 2019
The Very original story of lion cub growing to be come king of the jungle. one of the best animation in the world from Japanese creator of Atom Boy's Osamu Tezuka.
Simba the lion king story (1995) is basicly copying the Kimba the white lion story ( 1965). Almost all character in the famous Disney The Lion King are heavily inspired or copied from Kimba the White Lion by late Osamu Tezuka.
Not the Lion King at all

The Kimba the White lion series isn't just stuck to one film from 1966, but is hundreds of hours of TV Series
this didn't led to Lion King or anything resembling to it at all.
If you like to see for yourself, look it up for days or just see YMS video on Kimba The White Lion then.

Warning: Spoilers
I was seven when I saw "Kimba the White Lion" back in 1966, and was immediately hooked onto the show. I'd tune into WPIX, which my family and I got through cable, and it was a real favorite of mine.
And I think I can see why.
Sometime ago, when I was in my 50s or so, I saw a DVD of one episode that had the voices redone. Evidently, this was done in Canada, as you could occasionally hear a Canadian accent. But what amazed me was how GREAT the story line was!!! This has held up much better than so many of the American cartoons produced in the Sixties. The original theme was also interesting to listen to as well.
I should try to locate more of these episodes to see if any of them jog this 65-year-old's memory!!!
