The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Sex & Nudity

  • A man and woman are strolling on the beach together. She wants to swim but is apprehensive about undressing in front of him. She asks him to turn around, which he does however, and its implied that she's naked when she enters the water. Cut scene. She is ready to get out of the water but he refuses to turn around again. She comes out of the water in her underwear and he is visibly disappointed, though lies otherwise. Her underwear is wet and white, so nipples are seen. While she attempts to get dressed he becomes increasingly forceful and an argument escalates to her screaming for him to stop as he grabs her. She continues to scream and begs for him to let her go. She struggles to fight him off but he forces her to the ground. It is later revealed that he did indeed rape her and that she had become pregnant. The woman later commits suicide and the man, distraught with guilt, dies by voluntarily putting himself in harm's way.

Violence & Gore

  • The sea battle at the end of the film is mildly intense, when many of Captain Torrey's friends, and his son, are killed.
