Wright, after throwing a boomerang which returns to him, says "It came back that time!", a reference to Charlie Drake's novelty hit 'My Boomerang Won't Come Back'.
One of the inmates of Springfield Prison is portrayed by Ronnie Barker who would later star in the successful prison TV series Porridge (1974).
During the fight at the end of the movie Charlie Drake's character catches the boomerang that he threw earlier and says 'It's come back at last' this is with reference to his single record he released 2 years earlier called 'My Boomerang Won't Come Back' which reached No 1 in Australia.
