  Guilietta Cameron : You need a girl, maybe?

  Nick Stratton : Oh, I tried that. Believe me.

  Pete Stratton : That broad you're with.

  Guilietta Cameron : Go ahead, I don't care any more.

  Nick Stratton : I'll never get clean again.

  Guilietta Cameron : What bothers you so much? The idea that I've known men before you? Is that it? Or is the idea of your father being one of them? What are you complaining about? I never asked you for anything. I never took anything from you. I only gave to you. You can tell everybody and laugh when you say it, for me it was free. That will make you feel like a man. A high priced woman like that and it cost you nothing. Think of the laugh you will get out of it.

  Nick Stratton : I want to be like the others. I want to have a hard time remembering your name.

  [throws money at Julie]

  Guilietta Cameron : Why count waves in the ocean?
