- The genre is thriller, and the main character spends many scenes of the film being very frightened. She hears a strange voice in the fog and over the phone lines threatening to kill her. As the film progress she becomes increasingly jumpy and is terrified when the lights go out, she hears a noise, or sees a shadow, etc....This could (and to some extent is meant to) frighten viewers.
