Routine Italian comedy.
Mozjoukine16 January 2009
This resistible late Toto comedy lacks the winning energy which made his films of a decade before watchable. There's a thin plot in which the gang of heavies trick him into coming to Paris, because he looks like the Marchese who wants to off him and claim the insurance. The French locating street scenics, without the actors, are particularly lackluster.

Flatly filmed and stringing together some implausibly connected routines - Toto sleeps in a tree, travels by train. watches strip tease, hides in a wax museum and does an unremarkable song. Though they are deployed with no finesse, support and production values are more than adequate. Miss Koskina is at her fleshy best, with her strip tease predictably interrupted.

Even with a better understanding of Italian than mine, I can't see this working up much enthusiasm.
