A likeable and attractive film that boasts a good Spanish cast, Alberto Closas and Analia Gadé lead the casting along with José Luís López Vazquez , Alfredo Mayo , Lina Rosales, Vicky Lagos, Roberto camardiel , Roberto Rey, Anibal Vel. After spending a lonely Christmas with a cold in the Spanish embassy in a cold European country and arguing with his friend Erica (Vicky Lagos), the diplomatic Patricio Arnaiz (Alberto Closas) ppointed plenipotentiary minister and destined for a Latin American imaginary country while he decides to marry a traditional Spanish girl. He arrives in Valladolid and during the Holy Week processions he falls in love with Mercedes Martinez (Analia Gadé), they get married despite Aunt Ursula's opposition and they settle in the embassy with the mission of obtaining at a good price the concession of oil territories for which several countries compete. But the wife discovers that Patricio's strategy to obtain the concession is to conquer the chancellor's wife Alejandra Aymat (Lina Rosales) , in turn she decides to fall in love with the chancellor Raimundo (Alfredo Mayo).

A sympathetic and colorful Spanish comedy narrating the rivalry with usual love conflicts that's established between a girl from the provinces, nicely played by Analia Gadé, who becomes the wife of a chancellor, exaggeratedly interpreted by Alberto Closas. Based on the Joaquín Calvo Sotelo's play that was released with great success in 1957 with Alberto Closas, Maria Asquerino and José Luis López Vázquez; the film adaptation achieved sufficient success, replacing Maria Asquerino with a dubbed Analia Gadé and in which a more moving first part has been added and the original has been respected of the second part. The lightness of the anecdote, the lack of rigor in the ways of speaking and the usually interior locations and exaggerated interpretations especially by Alberto Closas, mean that the man-woman confrontation on which the work is based has little force, even less than the original play; however, the success it had at the time made Calvo Sotelo to write a kind of continuation, ¨Operación Embajada¨ ("Operation Embassy") which in turn is also taken to the cinema under the direction of Fernando Palacios and the same protagonist trio.

The Italian-Argentine director Amadori shoots this film after leaving Argentina with more than 50 films made, starting a new successful career in Spain. That same year he directed the hit: ¨Donde van Alfonso XII? , one of the biggest commercial successes along with ¨La Violetera¨. The Argentinean , nationalized Spanish writer/filmmaker Amadori so consistently mixed the good with the mediocre that it became quite impossible to know what to expect from him next . In ¨Una muchachita de Valladolid¨(1958) the craftsman Luis Cesar Amadori blends loving intrigues along with religious processions and popular dances. Amadori was an Argentina-born former journalist and music critic who became a leading stage producer and dramatist , and , subsequently, writer-director of motion pictures in Argentina. Luis was manager in 150 theatrical spectacles . He debuts in ¨Puerto Nuevo¨(1936) co-directed by Mario Soffici . Amadori often used the pseudonym ¨Gabriel Peña¨ when he wrote his scripts . After the overthrow of Peron worked in Spain for a decade , for 1958 to 1968 he made 17 films , such as : 1965 ¨Más Bonita Que Ninguna¨ , 1964 ¨El Señor De La Salle¨ with Mel Ferrer , 1964 ¨Como Dos Gotas Agua¨ , 1963 ¨La Casta Susana¨ , 1961 ¨Pecado De Amor¨ , 1961 ¨Alerta en el Cielo¨ , 1960 ¨Mi Ultimo tango¨ , 1960 ¨Un Trono para Cristy¨ , 1959 ¨Una Gran Señora¨ , 1958 ¨Una Muchachita De Valladolid¨. Most of them were vehicles of famous actresses as ¨Rocio Durcal¨ , ¨Marujita Diaz¨ , ¨Pili and Mili¨ and Sara Montiel with whom made this his biggest hit : ¨La Violetera¨ .
