When Roger is trying to keep his engine running on the ground and in the air in the last race, he is seen frantically pulling and pushing an engine control on the instrument panel. What he is pulling/pushing is the carburetor heat control, which would have little effect under these conditions, except to lean out the mixture and reduce engine power as there would be no ice in the carburetor at this time.
When Laverne does her parachute jump, she is seen in close shots hanging by her arms from a trapeze-style bar. However in the longer shots, she is seen to be in a normal parachute harness as she lands.
It is evident from watching the waves off of the water and the spectators on the ground, that many of the aerial scenes have been sped up to artificially increase the apparent speed of the aircraft in flight.
Despite the fact that the story is taking place in the early 1930s, all of Dorothy Malone's clothing, hairstyles and make-up are strictly 1957, the year the picture was filmed.
