In the mid-1990s, whenever Cartoon Network would have technical difficulties interrupting a broadcast, in lieu of a slide showing the channel logo/name, a still from this cartoon of the TV producer holding a "Program Temporarily Interrupted - Please Stand By" card up to the TV camera would be used.
The television station manager is modeled after Frank Nelson, a regular on the Jack Benny Show. The manager's voice is provided by Mel Blanc, another Benny regular.
