Bugs' chastising of Elmer for calling his rifle a gun is a very inside reference to a dirty joke popular among WW2-era soldiers, based on their use of the word "gun" as a slang term for "penis." The entire joke is, "This is my rifle/This is my gun/This one's for fighting/This one's for fun."
Bugs recites the actual Boy Scout pledge, with a few added phrases.
This is the second time Bugs and Elmer head to the altar, the first was shown in the 1950 short "Rabbit of Seville."
Elmer Fudd spoofs General Douglas Macarthur, right down to his corncob pipe. Post WW2 and Korean audiences would have recognized the humor.
"Judge" Bugs calls Elmer the policeman "Monahan." This was a nod to Dave Monahan, a longtime story writer for Warner Brothers cartoons.
