This movie marks the only time Ezio Pinza (as Chaliapin) sang "Boris Godunov" in the original Russian; prior to this, he always performed it in Italian.
Legendary violinist Isaac Stern, who portrayed Eugene Ysaye, was, in real life, represented by Hurok. Opera stars Roberta Peters and Jan Peerce were also part of the Hurok roster.
